Miami Autism Expert Dr. Jenn Sanderson

Hello and welcome!

Thank you, Dr. Nicole Valdes for the gracious introduction. I’m happy to have recently joined Dr. Valdes in her Miami practice, where I focus primarily on providing diagnostic assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). My clinical and research experience and training have included individuals of all ages primarily with ASD and developmental disabilities, but have also included children and adults with related behavioral, social emotional, and learning challenges. So many I’ve met along this journey have inspired me in ways that are difficult to put into words. My own mentors and colleagues have also challenged and pushed me to always strive to do better and help others in meaningful ways. Perhaps this blog will allow me to reach out to some of you whose paths I might not otherwise cross.

In this blog, I’ll be focusing on topics and issues related to ASD and other developmental and behavioral challenges. With autism rates on the rise in the U.S. and around the world, this is certainly a hot topic in the minds of parents and healthcare professionals alike. Some adults even wonder if a diagnosis of ASD could help explain the challenges they’ve faced in social, academic, and work settings, and difficulties building personal relationships.
